Yunus Ali: We Need to Put Al Rayyan Back on the Right Track

Al Rayyan coach, Yunus Ali, emphasized the importance of the upcoming match against Al Ahli in the eighth round of the Ooredoo Stars League. During the pre-match press conference, he stated: “The Al Ahli match will be a crucial and challenging encounter against one of the top contenders in the first group. Al Ahli has consistently delivered impressive performances and is vying for the top spot. However, coming off a victory against Al Khor, we aim to build on this momentum with a second consecutive win against Al Ahli. We are aware that the match will be tactically complex, but the team is prepared to deliver a performance that surpasses our previous match against Al Khor to maintain our winning streak in the league.”

He added, “The positive aspect of the team is the creation of numerous opportunities. We hope to capitalize on these chances in the upcoming matches. As a coach, I am concerned when the team fails to create scoring opportunities, but when they do, I consider it a sign of being on the right track. We hope to succeed in the next match and make the most of our chances.”

Yunus discussed his aspirations for Al Rayyan, saying, “My ambition with Al Rayyan is undoubtedly to restore the club to its former glory. I am fully aware that the period during which the club signed me was not ideal. Some people may say that the timing was inappropriate, but as a son of Al Rayyan, if I didn’t have the courage to be here now to help the team get back on track, then the problem would be with me, not with Al Rayyan. We assure everyone that Al Rayyan will gradually return to the right path. We also assure everyone that we, as players, coaching staff, and administration, will do our utmost. We understand the fans’ frustration, as Al Rayyan is a big club and should always be in the top positions. We cannot comment on the beginning of the season as there were different coaches, and we must respect their work. We are now ready to put Al Rayyan back on the right track.
