Al Rayyan head coach Vicente Moreno emphasized the team’s readiness to face Al Arabi in the Qatari football derby as part of Week 8 matches in the Doha Bank Stars League. Speaking at the pre-match press conference, he said: “We want to be a great club, and we want to compete in major tournaments. This is normal; if you want to play in the Champions League, you have to play many matches throughout the season. I don’t want to look for excuses, and we are ready to play tomorrow against Al Arabi. Our players worked very well over these two days, and we are prepared for tomorrow’s match.”
He added: “I am sure that tomorrow’s match will be completely different because every game has its own circumstances, and every season is different. Al Arabi is also having a very good season at the moment. It is very clear to me that if we want to win tomorrow, we must deliver our best performance. I hope we win because I know this match is very important to our fans, and I want to win it for them tomorrow.”
Addressing the fans, he stated: “We need our fans; we play for them, and if possible, we need their support. If they can come to the stadium to back us, that will be very important for us to win games.”
