Al-Rayyan coach Vicente Moreno expressed his delight at reaching the QSL Cup final. During the pre-match press conference ahead of the Al-Rayyan vs Muaither game, he said:
“We are happy to be playing in this final. It is very important for us at Al-Rayyan to play this final in order to achieve the team’s first title of the season. This is our first opportunity to win a trophy this season. It is a difficult final against Muaither, a team we respect a lot. They are a good side with a good coach, and they have the same desire as us — to win the title. I have great confidence in the abilities of our players.”
He added: “I told the players that this opportunity is a gift for me — to play a final and have the chance to win a title after just two matches. We must seize this opportunity. Al-Rayyan is a big club that always wants to win trophies.”
The Spanish coach pointed out that the team will play with the same intensity regardless of the opponent, stating that they will approach the match as if it were a World Cup final. He said: “This team deserved to reach the final. I have watched their previous matches, and they fully merit being here.”
Moreno stressed that the team has several important matches during this month, but the focus is solely on the upcoming match against Al-Mu’aidar, after which they will think about the following fixtures.
He concluded his remarks by sending a message to the fans: “This is an important match for the supporters. On our part, we will try to win the cup to make it a gift for the Al-Rayyan fans.”
