Egyptian International Trezeguet Joins Al Rayyan

Al Rayyan Sports Club has announced the signing of Egyptian international Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet” on a season-long loan from Turkish club Trabzonspor. The Egyptian winger will don the number “8” T-shirt for the Pride of Al Rayyan.

The signing of Trezeguet comes as part of the club’s strategic plan to bolster its squad with top-tier players to compete in domestic tournaments and the prestigious AFC Champions League.

Trezeguet has enjoyed a successful football career, beginning with Al Ahly in Egypt before moving to Anderlecht in Belgium. He then joined Turkish club Kasımpaşa, where he shone before signing for Aston Villa in the English Premier League. Trezeguet played a pivotal role in helping Villa maintain their Premier League status after their promotion from the Championship. Subsequently, he transferred to Trabzonspor, leading the team to the Europa League.

The Egyptian winger boasts an impressive goalscoring record with all the clubs he has played for. He has represented the Egyptian national team 70 times, scoring 16 goals, and reached the Africa Cup of Nations finals in 2017 and 2022. He also participated in the 2018 FIFA World Cup. At club level, Trezeguet has played 132 matches in the Turkish Super League, scoring 49 goals and providing 33 assists. In the English Premier League, he played 56 matches, scoring 8 goals and providing 2 assists, while in the Egyptian Premier League, he played 55 matches, scoring 7 goals and providing 7 assists.
