Al-Rayyan coach Poya Asbaghi emphasized the importance of the Al-Rayyan and Al-Duhail match in the second round of the QNB Stars League. During the press conference held on the sidelines of this match, he said: “It’s a big match between two strong teams. Both teams managed to win their first match. Al-Duhail has made many changes compared to last season, as they have made good signings. They have a stronger team this season than last season. I expect Al-Duhail to be different this season and will fight for titles, especially since they will not be playing in the Asian Champions League this year, unlike teams like Al-Rayyan, Al-Gharafa, and Al-Sadd, who will be playing in the Asian Champions League, so they will play to win, but we have the motivation to achieve victory.”
Asbaghi pointed out that Al-Duhail has many solutions, unlike Umm Salal, who used to play on counter-attacks, affirming that Al-Rayyan will give their all in the match to achieve victory. He also noted the need to avoid mistakes against Al-Duhail and exploit the opponent’s mistakes.
He revealed that Al-Rayyan’s goal is always first place, and that a team like Al-Rayyan does not seek second or third place, so the team’s ambition this season is to compete for titles, affirming that he will work to develop the team’s performance. He said that the Al-Duhail match is just three points, and that winning or losing will not affect anything currently because we are at the beginning of the league, but Al-Rayyan will play to win, and the players will give one hundred percent of the required performance.
