Al Rayyan coach Artur Jorge confirmed that his players are ready to face Al Shahania in the seventh round of the Doha Bank Stars League. During the press conference held on the sidelines of the match, he said:
“As for preparing for Al Shahania, we have worked on maintaining the balance between performance and results. We wished to achieve more than what we have accomplished in the recent period, but now we are striving for victory. Looking at the players, I believe they are ready to face the opponent and secure the win.”
He added:
“I have watched all the league matches. Every team is playing to win – that’s a key point for us. We know this is a crucial period in the league season to compete for the top spots. Therefore, we need the three points to stay in the race. We will face a team fighting to escape the bottom of the table. The only way to get past this match is to give everything we have. We must play as one unit. The players have prepared well and are ready. We know our fixture list until the end of the first phase. The fight for the top is in our hands, and we must always deliver our best. Right now, we face the opponent with one single goal: to take the three points.”
Regarding facing his son in this match, he noted that it is not the first time, as they previously met in the Portuguese league. He stressed that both work professionally and wished the game would end in Al Rayyan’s favor, saying:
“I hope to be happier than him at the final whistle.”
