Portuguese coach Artur Jorge of Al-Rayyan confirmed that his team is ready to face Al-Duhail. During a press conference held on the sidelines of the Al-Rayyan vs. Al-Duhail match in the third round of the Doha Bank Stars League, he stated:
“The most important match for me is always the next one. I expect the upcoming match to be an exciting encounter between two strong teams with high-caliber players. We are focused on the work we’ve done and how we can continue to improve to deliver our best in every match and maintain control. In the previous match, we made some mistakes that affected the result. Our goal now is to give our best—players, coach, and fans alike—and to fight for the three points to secure our second victory in the league.”
He added: “We always work to be ready for the competitions we participate in. Our main goal is to win every match we play, regardless of the opponent. Tomorrow, we will face a different and stronger opponent than before. We will play our way, the way we prefer, and I hope we enjoy this match and achieve the result we want, which is victory. We must avoid mistakes. In the last match, we saw what we offered in the first half—we scored goals and controlled the game—but after that, we lost control due to some errors that impacted the result. We have great confidence in ourselves, we are ready to play any match and achieve victory. We have one mentality: to fight for the win.”
He pointed out that the key to winning this match lies in his confidence in the players, saying: “We’ve trained hard this week to be ready to secure the victory. It won’t be an easy match for us. I know Al-Duhail well; they have good players. Of course, it won’t be an easy match for them either, as they respect Al-Rayyan and know we are a strong team. Therefore, we need to be better than them, play with our mentality, and have a strong drive to win.”
He continued: “Matches between Al-Rayyan and Al-Duhail are always tough, especially since both teams consistently compete for the top spots. These matches are not influenced by previous results. We hope to deliver a good performance and secure the three points in the end.”
