Al-Rayyan coach Artur Jorge affirmed that the team is ready to face Qatar SC in the final match of their Ooredoo Stars League campaign. During the press conference held on the sidelines of this match, he said: “We are preparing for this match with the same intensity as previous matches. We know it’s our last match in the league. We need to continue what we presented in the last match, to show the team’s character, because we are competing for fifth place. When we look back at the beginning of the season, this is not the position we hoped for, and at this moment it is the best position we can achieve. It is very important that we give everything we have. We will try to present in the upcoming match the same performance we showed in the last match, during which we played a great game and achieved a good result.”
Regarding the participation of young players, he said: “We involve young players to see their true level and to send a message to everyone. It doesn’t matter if a player is an international or something else; what matters is what they offer in training. I also believe in all the players, and it is also important to see some young players and prepare them for the next season, giving them confidence and integrating them with experienced players like Roger.”
He added: “There is no easy match, and we treat all opponents equally. We must focus on ourselves, because we lost many points against teams considered to be at a lower level. This is the mentality I want from my team, and we must finish the league with a victory.”
