Portuguese coach Arthur Jorge of Al-Rayyan confirmed that the team is ready for the match against Al-Shabab (Saudi Arabia) in the fourth round of the Gulf Champions League. Speaking at the pre-match press conference, he said:
“We are very excited for the Gulf Champions League because we haven’t played in this competition for a long time. Some of our players have featured in international matches recently, while others haven’t played at all. We are fully prepared for the game and will deliver a strong performance to secure the three points.”
When asked about the long break and its impact on the team, he added:
“As a coach and for the players, I don’t like long breaks. The team needs competitive matches. We had the QSL Cup, and the team managed to win those matches with good competition among the players, which helped them prepare for the official competitions.”
