Arthur Jorge: Not happy with the draw

Portuguese coach Arthur Jorge of Al-Rayyan spoke at the post-match press conference following the game against Al-Shabab (Saudi Arabia):
“The match ended in a draw, and I’m not happy with this result. We were aiming to win all three points. We went 2-0 up in the first half, but we couldn’t hold onto that lead. We’re still top of the group, but this wasn’t the outcome we wanted.”

He pointed out that the substitutions he made during the match were intended to secure a victory, not settle for a draw. He stressed that he always aims for the three points regardless of the opponent’s position in the group standings, saying:
“The desire is always to win. After taking the lead, luck wasn’t on our side to maintain the advantage. We missed three important chances, and football punished us for wasting those opportunities.”
