Al Rayyan Stages Comeback to Beat Al Shamal 2-1 in QSL Cup

Al Rayyan produced a brilliant second-half turnaround, overturning a one-goal deficit to defeat Al Shamal 2-1 in the match played this evening at Al Gharafa’s secondary stadium, as part of the seventh round of the QSL Cup.

Al Shamal took the lead in the 32nd minute through Omar Ali, but Roger Guedes equalized for Al Rayyan in the 50th minute. The Brazilian then completed the turnaround by converting a penalty in the 57th minute to score his second and Al Rayyan’s winning goal.

With this victory, Al Rayyan extended their lead at the top of the first phase of the tournament with 19 points, now five points clear of second-placed Muaither, while Al Shamal stayed on 11 points in eighth position.
