Under the patronage of Mr. Ali Salem Affifa, Vice President of Al Rayyan Sports Club, the club’s athletics department will be organizing its second friendly championship next Wednesday at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium track and field. The event will feature three participating clubs: Al Arabi, Al Khor, and the host club, Al Rayyan, in addition to the Aspire Academy. The competition will include track and field events for youth, junior, and cadet categories, with over 100 athletes participating.
Mr. Rashid Al Khayareen noted that the friendly championship aims to provide an opportunity for athletes from the participating clubs to experience the atmosphere of competitions and enhance their skills. He expressed gratitude to the Al Rayyan Sports Club management, especially His Excellency Sheikh Al Qaqa’a bin Hamad Al Thani, for their unwavering support of athletics and their contribution to organizing this event. Al Khayareen added that the championship serves as an excellent platform for athletes to develop their abilities and achieve success in the “mother of sports.”
The championship will encompass 12 track and field events, including the 60m, 120m, 150m, 1200m, and 1500m races, 60m hurdles, high jump, long jump, pole vault, shot put, discus throw, and hammer throw.
