Al-Rayyan repeated their victory over Al-Sailiya with a 3-1 scoreline in the opening match of the second phase of the Doha Bank Stars League. The match between the two teams took place this evening at Hamad Al-Kabir Stadium, after Al-Rayyan had previously won by the same score in the opening round of the league championship.
With this result, Al-Rayyan’s points tally rose to 23 points, placing them in second position behind leaders Al-Gharafa, who have 28 points. Meanwhile, Al-Sailiya’s points remained at 8, keeping them in eleventh place.
Al-Rayyan took the lead with a goal in the 23rd minute through David Garcia, before Roger Guedes strengthened the score with a second goal in the 45+1 minute. In the 65th minute, Khaled Ali reduced the deficit for Al-Sailiya, before Roger returned to score the third in the 86th minute.
Al-Rayyan played with a lineup consisting of Mahmoud Aboundi in goal; Jassim Jaber, Mohammed Saleh, David Garcia, and Ahmed Al-Manhali in defense; Abdulaziz Hatem, Gregory, and Roger Guedes in midfield; and Gabriel Pereira, Wesley, and Rodrigo Moreno in attack.
