Al-Rayyan Refuses to Surrender and Snatches a Thrilling Draw Against Al-Sadd in the “Qatar Clasico”

 

 

In a breathtaking night that kept fans on the edge of their seats until the very last seconds, Al-Rayyan Club managed to snatch a valuable and well-deserved draw against the league leaders, Al-Sadd Club, with a score of (1-1). The match took place at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium in the final match of Round 20 of the Qatar Stars League (Doha Bank League).

The game began with mutual pressure and tactical caution. However, Al-Sadd succeeded in opening the scoring in the 27th minute through their player Firmino. Despite falling behind, Al-Rayyan players did not retreat. Instead, they intensified their attacking efforts and controlled long periods of the match in search of a comeback.

As the match was heading toward its conclusion, in the 90+5th minute of stoppage time, Aleksandar Mitrović wore the hero’s mantle by scoring the dramatic equalizer. He sent the Al-Rayyan fans into wild celebrations in the stands and earned his team a precious point that strengthens their position in the golden square (top four).
