Al-Rayyan secured a commanding 3-0 win against Al-Ahli in the match held this evening at Al Thumama Stadium, concluding the fifth round of the Doha Bank Stars League.
With this result, Al-Rayyan’s tally rose to 10 points, advancing them to third place in the league standings, three points behind leaders Al-Shamal and Qatar, who hold first and second places, respectively. Meanwhile, Al-Ahli remained on three points, stuck in the second-to-last position.
Al-Rayyan took the lead in the 29th minute through Rodrigo Moreno, followed by a second goal from Aleksandar Mitrović in the 45th minute. Roger Guedes sealed the victory with a third goal in the 86th minute.
Al-Rayyan’s lineup consisted of Mahmoud Abu Nada in goal; Abdullah Yusuf, Mohammed Saleh, André Amaro, and Ahmed Al-Minhali in defense; Thiago Silva, Jassim Jaber, and Fajr Guedes in midfield; and Rodrigo Moreno, Wesly, and Aleksandar Mitrović in attack.
