Our U-23 youth team officially lifted the Olympic League shield this evening, despite a 1-0 defeat against Al Sailiya in the final round of the competition.
This result did not impact “The Lions'” position at the top of the table, as they concluded the season as champions with 42 points. Thanks to the comfortable lead built throughout the campaign, the team’s hard work culminated in a well-deserved title for the Al Rayyan squad.
Title Secured in the Penultimate Round
Al Rayyan had already officially secured the championship in the previous round after a dominant 3-0 victory over Al Arabi. This made today’s match a celebratory occasion for the team to receive the league shield, regardless of the final scoreline.
A Deserved Coronation
Following the match, the coronation ceremony took place in the presence of Qatar Football Association officials. Our champions received the Olympic League shield amidst an atmosphere of pride, celebrating a season of consistent performance that saw them finish at the summit with 42 points.
