Al Rayyan Loses to Al Shamal in Doha Bank Stars League

 

Al Rayyan suffered a 2-4 defeat against Al Shamal in the match held this evening at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium, as part of the second round of the Doha Bank Stars League.

With this result, Al Rayyan remains at 3 points, while Al Shamal’s tally rises to 6 points.

Al Shamal took the lead in the 40th minute through Mohammed Omar, before Mohammed Alaa equalized for Al Rayyan in the 42nd minute. Alaa then scored again in the 44th minute, giving Al Rayyan the lead in the first half. However, Mohammed Seraj was sent off in the 45+3rd minute, leaving Al Rayyan with ten players for the remainder of the match.

In the second half, Tamer Sayyam equalized for Al Shamal in the 56th minute. Baghdad Bounedjah then scored the third goal from a penalty in the 90th minute, and Omar Ali sealed the victory with a fourth goal in the 94th minute.

Al Rayyan’s lineup consisted of Sami Beldi in goal, a defensive quartet of Ahmed Al-Minhali, David Garcia, Andre Amaro, and Abdullah Yusuf, midfielders Guedes, Di Sart, and Mohammed Seraj, and forwards Gabriel Pereira, Roger Guedes, and Ahmed Alaa.
