Al Rayyan suffered a 3-2 defeat against Al Gharafa in the match held this evening at the Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium, Al Rayyan’s home ground, in the opening game of the sixth round of the Doha Bank Stars League.
With this result, Al Rayyan’s points tally remains at 10, placing them fourth, while Al Gharafa’s points rose to 13, securing third place.
Al Gharafa took the lead in the 17th minute through Dame Traoré, before Al Rayyan equalized with a goal from Roger Guedes in the 42nd minute. In the 44th minute, Ahmed Al Janhi scored Al Gharafa’s second goal. In the 82nd minute, Al Rayyan was awarded a penalty, and Al Gharafa’s Diaz was sent off. Roger Guedes successfully converted the penalty to score Al Rayyan’s second goal. However, Yacine Brahimi sealed the victory for Al Gharafa with a penalty in the 90+1st minute.
Al Rayyan’s lineup consisted of Mahmoud Abunada in goal; Ahmed Al Minhali, Mohammed Saleh, André Amaro, and Abdullah Yusuf in defense; Grégory, Jassim Jaber, and Roger Guedes in midfield; and Rodrigo Moreno, Wesley, and Mitrović in attack.
