Al-Rayyan lost to Al-Duhail 2-3 in a match held today at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium in Al-Duhail, as part of the eighth round of the Stars of Expo League.
With this result, Al-Rayyan’s points total remains at 15 points in fourth place, while Al-Duhail’s points total rises to 16 points in third place.
Al-Rayyan started the first half strongly and scored the opening goal in the 16th minute through Roger Guedes, following a pass from Achraf Ben Charki. In the 41st minute, Roger Guedes scored again, giving Al-Rayyan a 2-0 lead at halftime.
In the second half, Al-Duhail pulled one back through Almoez Ali from the penalty spot in the 59th minute. Michael Olunga equalized for Al-Duhail in the 80th minute, and then scored the winning goal in the 88th minute to give Al-Duhail a 3-2 victory.
