Al Rayyan Athletics Department opened the new sports season with an outstanding performance at the National Cross-Country Championship, the first official event of the season. The club reinforced its strong presence across various age categories with impressive results.
The team secured the silver medal in the Buds (youngest) category and the bronze medal in the Juniors category — a remarkable improvement that reflects the tremendous efforts made during the preparatory period, especially after the challenges these two groups faced last season.
The Youth team maintained the silver medal for the third consecutive year, while the Cubs and Open categories continue their preparations to deliver even higher levels in upcoming competitions.
On this occasion, Rashid Al-Khayarin, Head of Al Rayyan Athletics Department, expressed his pride in the achievements accomplished at the start of the season, stating:
“I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to both the technical and administrative staff for their great efforts and continuous dedication. I also thank our players for their commitment and fighting spirit, which were the main factors behind this success.”
Additionally, the Head of the Department extended congratulations to the Qatar Athletics Federation for the successful organization of the championship, reaffirming that the club will continue to work with a unified team spirit in order to support the national teams and contribute to the development of the “mother of sports” in the State of Qatar.
