Al Rayyan Sports Club announces the honoring of its distinguished player hmed Majdi, goalkeeper of the men’s handball team and the Qatar national team, on the occasion of his winning the award for Best Goalkeeper in Asia during the 22nd Asian Men’s Handball Championship 2026, held in Kuwait.
Ahmed Majdi achieved this remarkable feat despite the Maroon national team reaching the final and finishing as runners-up (Asian vice-champions). He played a major role in the team’s performance with his outstanding saves. During the tournament, he recorded 64 successful saves in 7 matches, achieving a save success rate of 32%, which earned him this prestigious individual award from the Asian Handball Federation.
Ahmed Majdi is one of the key pillars of Al Rayyan’s handball team, combining international experience with outstanding local performances, and has contributed significantly to enhancing the club’s and Qatari handball’s status on the continental scene.
