Al Rayyan General Assembly Elects H.E. Sheikh Al-Qaqaa as Club President

The Ordinary General Assembly meeting was held this evening in the Conference Hall at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, following the attainment of a legal quorum in the presence of the club’s General Assembly members.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Ali Salem Afifa, Vice President of Al Rayyan Club, and Eng. Mohammed Al-Atwan, General Supervisor of the club.
During the meeting, the list of His Excellency Sheikh Al-Qaaqaa bin Hamad Al Thani was elected as President of the Club, with Mr. Ali Salem Afifa as Vice President, for a four-year electoral term.
The meeting commenced with the approval of the previous minutes held on August 30, 2025, and September 1, 2025. This was followed by a discussion on H.E. the Club President’s report regarding the club’s activities for the ended year 2025–2026, alongside activity programs and the work plan for the upcoming 2026–2027 year. The assembly approved the final accounts for the 2025–2026 financial year and passed the estimated budget proposal for the 2026–2027 fiscal year. Additionally, the auditor’s report for the 2025–2026 financial year was discussed, an auditor for the 2026–2027 fiscal year was appointed along with the estimation of their fees, and proposals submitted by the General Assembly members were reviewed.
The General Assembly of Al Rayyan praised the achievements accomplished by the club’s teams last season, most notably securing the Gulf Club Champions League title for the first time for the football team, alongside winning the QSL Cup and the Olympic League title for the Under-23 team, in addition to achievements made across other sports in various championships.
For his part, Mr. Ali Salem Afifa, Vice President of the club, emphasized that the club succeeded in achieving numerous milestones on all levels—most notably winning the Gulf Championship for the first time in the football team’s history, alongside claiming the QSL Cup, the Olympic League for the U-23 team, and multiple championships across all sports—which reflects the great work carried out by the technical and administrative staff in various disciplines.
Afifa also praised the efforts of staff across all sports, noting that the immense support provided by H.E. Sheikh Al-Qaqaa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, President of the Club, played the primary role in bringing about these achievements.
In the same context, Eng. Mohammed Al-Atwan, General Supervisor of the club, commended the club’s achievements, highlighted by the football team’s historic first Gulf Championship title, the QSL Cup, and the U-23 Olympic League, confirming the development of technical standards across all club sports and age groups.
He noted that these achievements will serve as motivation for the club’s management to continue working in line with its strategic plan. He stressed that management will spare no effort to meet the hopes and aspirations of Al Rayyan fans, emphasizing that the strong backing from H.E. Sheikh Al-Qaqaa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Club President, contributed significantly to achieving the club’s goals and plans.
Furthermore, he pointed out that the club succeeded in generalizing the seasonal card concept introduced by the Qatar Stars League (QSL), following the success of this initiative with Al Rayyan Club in previous seasons, noting that the club’s achievements also contributed to bringing in a new sponsor, Rafeeq.
