A thrilling 29-29 draw marked the opening match between Al Rayyan and Bahrain’s Al Shabab in the 27th edition of the Asian Club Handball Championship. The match, played at the Handball Federation Hall at Al Duhail Club, saw both teams kick off their tournament campaigns.
Al Rayyan displayed a dominant performance in the first half, establishing a 17-13 lead. However, Al Shabab capitalized on Al Rayyan’s decline in the second half, narrowing the gap and earning a penalty shot in the final seconds due to a personal foul. This successful penalty shot secured a dramatic draw for Al Shabab.
