Al-Rayyan secured a 2-1 victory over Al-Wakra this evening at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium (Al Sadd SC) in the second round of the Doha Bank Stars League.
With this result, Al-Rayyan moves to the top of the standings with 6 points from two consecutive wins, while Al-Wakra remains in 8th place with 1 point.
Roger Guedes opened the scoring for Al-Rayyan in first-half stoppage time (45+1′). Amine Zouhzouh equalized for Al-Wakra in the 73rd minute before substitute Ahmed Alaaeldin netted the late winner for Al-Rayyan in the 90th minute.
