The first football team of Al-Rayyan Club has qualified for the final match of the QSL Cup after a heroic victory over Umm Salal Club via penalty kicks by a score of 17-16, following an exciting 3-3 draw in regular time. This sets up a final showdown with Al-Mu’aidar Club in the big final.
The match started with an early goal from Umm Salal, who opened the scoring in the 5th minute through Christo. Salem Al-Hajri then doubled the lead in the 3rd minute. Despite trailing by two goals, Al-Rayyan players showed strong character as Thiago Silva managed to reduce the deficit in the 40th minute, ending the first half with a 2-1 scoreline.
In the second half, Umm Salal reinforced their lead with a third goal through Kouassi in the 65th minute. However, Al-Rayyan’s real comeback began in the final minutes: Gabriel Pereira scored the second goal in the 84th minute, before Rodrigo Moreno exploded with joy in the stands by netting the dramatic equalizer in the 90+4th minute.
With this victory, Al-Rayyan sets up a final date against Muaither Club, where all eyes will turn to the podium to claim the precious title and dedicate it to the loyal fans.
