Spaniard Vicente Moreno to Lead Al Rayyan Until 2028

Al Rayyan SC has officially announced the appointment of Spanish head coach Vicente Moreno to take charge of the first football team under a contract extending until 2028.

The club management reached an official agreement with Al Wakrah SC, following the coach’s approval, to facilitate his move to Al Rayyan. This transition comes within the framework of the distinguished cooperation and strong relations shared between the two clubs.

The management of Al Rayyan SC extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to the board of Al Wakrah SC for their cooperation and for facilitating the procedures to complete this agreement.

This appointment is part of the club’s commitment to enhancing team stability and ensuring continued competitiveness for both domestic and continental titles. Moreno succeeds Portuguese coach Artur Jorge, whose tenure with the club recently concluded as he moved to lead the Brazilian side Cruzeiro.

Vicente Moreno possesses a deep understanding of Qatari football, having previously managed Al Wakrah. He brings a distinguished coaching pedigree from La Liga, where he managed clubs such as Espanyol, Mallorca, and Osasuna, in addition to his experience in the Gulf region with Saudi Arabia’s Al Shabab.
