Al-Rayyan Secures Top Spot with a 3-1 Victory Over Al-Nahda

 

 

Al-Rayyan Club clinched first place in Group B after defeating Oman’s Al-Nahda 3-1 in the match that took place this evening at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium, home of Al-Rayyan Club, concluding the fixtures of Group B.

With this result, Al-Rayyan raised their tally to 12 points, strengthening their lead at the top of the group. They now await the second-placed team from Group A tomorrow to face them in the tournament semi-final.

On the other hand, Al-Nahda Oman’s tally stopped at 7 points, and they were eliminated from the competition after Saudi Arabia’s Al-Shabab defeated Yemen’s Tadamon Hadramout and claimed second place in the group standings.

Al-Rayyan took the lead in the 21st minute through Ahmed Alaa. Roger Guedes doubled the advantage for the “Terrible” in the 55th minute. In the 63rd minute, Berry Gyan reduced the deficit for Al-Nahda with their first goal, before substitute Mitrović sealed the victory with a third goal in the 71st minute.
