Al Rayyan secured a 5-3 victory over Al Sadd in the match that brought the two teams together this evening at Al Gharafa’s secondary stadium, as part of the ninth round of the QSL Cup.
Al Sadd took the lead with a goal in the 3rd minute by Paulo Silva, before Giovani scored the second for Al Sadd in the 12th minute. Rodrigo Moreno then reduced the deficit for Al Rayyan in the [minute not specified], before Hashim Ali scored the third for Al Sadd in the 30th minute. In the 51st minute, Roger Guedes scored Al Rayyan’s second goal, before Rodrigo returned to equalize for Al Rayyan in the 59th minute. Roger then gave Al Rayyan the lead in the 71st minute, before Wesley scored the fifth goal for Al Rayyan in the 83rd minute.
With this result, Al Rayyan raised their points tally to 25, maintaining their lead at the top of the standings—which they had already secured in the previous round—qualifying for the quarter-finals as group leaders, while Al Sadd settled for 5 points in the second-to-last position.
