Portuguese coach Artur Jorge, manager of Al Rayyan, confirmed that the team is fully prepared to face Oman’s Al-Nahda in the second round of the Gulf Champions League group stage. Speaking at the press conference held ahead of the match, he said: “This is our second match in the Gulf Championship. We delivered a strong performance in our first game, and we must maintain our winning streak to achieve our goal of reaching the final. We have an important match ahead against a tough opponent, Al-Nahda.”
He added: “For us, every match is crucial. We have strong motivation for this game, and we need to secure a positive result tomorrow. We must showcase our true level and be 100% ready for the match.”
Jorge noted that he is well acquainted with Al-Nahda, having closely followed their performances over the past month, particularly their international players who recently represented Oman in their last two matches. He said: “We know Al-Nahda well and have been tracking them. We’re aware that they have several international players who played in Qatar recently. We know they play well, and we watched their last match in the tournament against Saudi Arabia’s Al-Shabab. I believe they will perform at the same level against us. They are a highly organized team, so we need to be a true team tomorrow to win the match and play with full energy.”
Regarding the difference in competition between the Qatari and Omani leagues, he said: “The level differs between the two leagues, but we must deliver our best in the match. I don’t think it will be an easy game because we’re facing a strong opponent. We will play our usual style regardless of the opponent. We have one way of playing, which is to control the game, score goals, and maintain a balance between defense and attack.”
