Al Rayyan began their journey in the Gulf Champions League with a 5-0 win over Yemen’s Tadamun Hadramout in the first round of the tournament, held at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium, securing their first three points in the group stage. Al Rayyan took the lead with a goal from Roger Guedes in the 17th minute, followed by a second goal from Guedes with a rocket shot in the 29th minute. The third goal came via an own goal by Ayoub Al-Talili in the 49th minute, before substitute Rodrigo Moreno scored the fourth in the 67th minute. Mitrovic sealed the scoring with a fifth goal in the 90+6th minute.
