This evening, the Ordinary General Assembly meeting of Al-Rayyan Club was held at the conference hall of Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium after achieving the required quorum, attended by the club’s General Assembly members. The meeting was attended by Mr. Ali Salem Afifa, Vice President of Al-Rayyan Club, and Engineer Mohammed Al-Attwan, the club’s General Supervisor.
The meeting began with the approval of the minutes of the previous meeting held on August 7, 2024, followed by a discussion of the report by His Excellency the Club President on the club’s activities for the concluded year 2024/2025, alongside the activity programs and work plan for the upcoming year 2025/2026. The final accounts for the financial year 2024/2025 were approved, and the proposed budget for the financial year 2025/2026 was ratified. The meeting also reviewed the auditor’s report for the financial year 2024/2025, appointed an auditor for the financial year 2025/2026, determined their fees, and considered proposals submitted by the General Assembly members.
On his part, Mr. Ali Salem Afifa, Vice President of the club, affirmed that the club has achieved numerous accomplishments across various fields, most notably reaching the final of His Highness the Amir’s Cup in football and advancing to the Round of 16 in the AFC Champions League Elite. Additionally, the club won the Asian Volleyball Champions League title for the first time in its history and qualified for the Club World Championship for the second time. The club also secured multiple championships across various sports, dominating volleyball by winning all titles this season—an achievement Al-Rayyan fans have grown accustomed to in recent years.
Afifa praised the efforts of the teams in all sports, noting that the significant support from His Excellency Sheikh Qaqa’a bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Club President, played a pivotal role in these accomplishments.
In the same context, Engineer Mohammed Al-Attwan, the General Supervisor, emphasized that the goals and results of the club’s long-term strategic plan have begun to materialize, as evidenced by the results and achievements across all sports. The most prominent was the volleyball team’s success in winning all championships, including the Asian Champions League and reaching the Club World Championship. These achievements reflect the technical development of the club’s sports across all categories.
He added that these accomplishments will motivate the club’s management to continue their efforts, stressing that the administration will spare no effort in achieving the aspirations of Al-Rayyan’s fans. He also highlighted that the substantial support from His Excellency Sheikh Qaqa’a bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani has significantly contributed to realizing the club’s goals and plans.
The General Assembly members commended the achievements and emphasized the need to continue developing programs and improving the quality of all sports activities to ensure sustained competitiveness at the highest levels.
