Younes Ali, the coach of Al Rayyan, expressed his disappointment at dropping two points against Iranian side Persepolis following a 1-1 draw. Speaking at the post-match press conference, he stated, “We played a great match against Persepolis. We had a strong second half, creating many chances. We didn’t start as we wanted, but after 30 minutes, we managed to control the game. We knew the Iranian team was good at crosses, and they managed to score from one.
Ali indicated that he was satisfied with his players’ performance, regardless of the result, saying, “We have to think about the next match against Al Wasl and look for a win.”
He added, “The team came into the game with high morale after the victory against Pakhtakor in the previous round. Regarding the missed chances, I think the hardest thing in football is creating chances, and we are capable of creating many chances in every match, but we still lack that final touch. Perhaps it’s a lack of luck or a brilliant performance from the goalkeeper.
