Al Rayyan Sports Club to Host the 27th Asian Club Handball Championship

Following the draw for the 27th Asian Club Handball Championship for Men, qualifying for the Super Globe 2025, which was held last week, and the signing ceremony for Al Rayyan Sports Club to host the Asian Championship, Al Rayyan Club announced the formation of an organizing committee for the championship, chaired by His Excellency Sheikh/ Al Qaqa’a bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and representatives of the club’s management, the game, and the Qatar Handball Federation. Through this committee, Mr. Faisal bin Khaled Al Atibi was appointed as the Executive Director of the championship, in addition to the formation of working teams responsible for following up on the preparations for the Asian championship, as well as submitting recommendations, reports, and the latest developments to the organizing committee; in an effort to launch and organize an exceptional sporting event that raises the level of previous major championships hosted in the country. The championship will be held from November 12 to 23 at the Al Duhail Sports Hall in Doha.

The championship will be held according to its new system as per the Asian Federation system, with the participation of 10 teams divided into two groups, led by Al Rayyan, the host of the championship, in the first group, and Kuwait, Sharjah, Shabab Bahrain, and Karkh Iraqi, while the second group includes Al Duhail Qatari, Al Khaleej Saudi, Kazma Kuwaiti, Ahli Sidab Omani, and Mes Kerman Iranian, as announced by the draw for the 27th Asian Club Handball Championship for Men. Four teams from each group will qualify for the quarter-finals, followed by the semi-finals and the final, which will be hosted by Al Rayyan Club.

It is worth noting that the supreme committee is seeking, in the course of its preparations, to sign a number of agreements with partners and companies to sponsor this exceptional event, during a press conference that will be held next month; in support of the success of hosting the championship.
